Summer worthy skin!!!

With the summer rapidly approaching I was thinking of sharing my beauty tips that have made me almost 100% make up free on a daily basis. Of course a girl needs to some lip balm and mascara but other wise my skin is fresh and radiant. How did I get there???

Well there are 2 cleansers I use: Aveeno moisturizing bar for dry skin and 100% grapeseed oil.

As a person with oily skin I realized drying out my skin was not the answer. The Aveeno bar is gentle and doesn’t lather. On the other hand the grape seed oil is supple and smoothing. The oil is great for tightening pores and slipping out the pesky blackheads. At night I just use a warm rag to wipe off excess oil and in the morning i use the Aveeno bar soap.

Twice a week I enhance my cleansing with my Olay cleansing brush. I ended up with this brush system after a friend raved about her Clarisonic and I found myself very pleased with the effectiveness of this apparatus! lol! It exfoliates gently yet deeply. I love it!

Next up get moisturized!

There are two main moisturizers I used that don’t cause any clogging or breakout for me. Ambi Even & Clear Daily Moisturizer and The Body Shop Vitamin C Daily Moisturizer. Both of these lotions are very light an SPF of 30. Please note that no matter how brown your skin is you need protection from the sun. Sometimes I add a dab of grape seed oil, coconut oil, or Vaseline to the lotions to give my skin more of a glow.

When your skin is in trouble there’s a great little diddy by Proactive that expedites the healing of a nasty pimple and even reduces marks. The Repairing lotion, trust me it’s worth every penny.

I’ve hidden for so long that now the people that should know me don’t recognize me or understand me. However it feels amazing to just be me. Relieved and alive! I thank God for a new day with brand new mercies and brand new moments.

I like cartoons, cheese, music, and hugs. I also like isolation and connectivity. My goal is to always feel safe, yet safety is relative. I put myself in these fragile boxes locking people out only for my fancy walls to cave in on me.

I’m not sure why I’m waxing poetic but I like it and it brings me one step closer to being me. Everything comes with a price and my rediscovery of self has just cost me greatly, so much that I have to make this experience worth it.

Prayerful and hopeful that God needed to get my attention and cooperation. He has it now!!! Lord I’m listening.

I can see it in my head but the ability to lay my head down on his chest and allow myself to rest in his arms escapes me. It’s hard to overcome years of fear and rejection. I’m no victim. Nope! I just have to realize the cost risk of losing is waaaay greater than the cost associated with risk of trying. Winning is worth it! #OnTheMendAgain
